Dimming:
All dimmers are not created equal. Flickering and buzzing can often be traced back to using a dimmer that isn’t compatible with the LED, or to connecting too many LEDs to a single dimmer. WAC's cutsheet recommends using an Electronic Low Voltage (ELV) dimmer for this light fixture. For my projects I like to use Lutron dimmers. It is always worthwhile budgeting for quality dimmers that are compatible with the LED you have chosen.
Ordering Accessories:
Track lighting is generally made up of a 'kit of parts', so it is important to order everything you will need before you begin installation. I do not recommend 'mixing and matching' different product lines. I like to use WAC's H track, paired with WAC's 8010 line voltage heads. The end result is a sleek look, with great flexibility to adjust your lighting setup/aiming in the future. There isn't a need to buy a separate low-voltage transformer, but it is necessary to buy a canopy which mounts over a recessed J-box (you will need to buy your own j-box). You will also need to plan ahead to determine if you will need track connectors for your project, based on how many turns you want to have in your track. "I" connectors, "L" connectors, and "T" connectors are all available with the H-track system.
Energy Code Compliance:
One of the great features of this product line is that current limiters can be used as part of a strategy to meet aggressive energy code targets. This feature is particularly helpful for hitting energy code requirements in California and Washington state where track lighting systems receive extra scrutiny from building officials.
Value Engineering & Alternates:
